Antique 18th century Portuguese cluster citrine and chrysoberyl brooch, in excellent antique condition with minor wear of sign-BO0031
Dating to the 1780s, this antique Portuguese brooch is a rare find, especially in such exceptional antique condition. Its timeless cluster design remains elegant and wearable today.
This brooch was originally a luxurious garment button and was later converted into a brooch, most likely in the late 19th century.
The natural, untreated chrysoberyls were mined in Minas Gerais, then part of Portuguese Brazil. These gemstones were prized in fine Portuguese jewelry during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. As the mines were eventually exhausted, antique Portuguese chrysoberyl jewelry became increasingly rare and is now highly sought after by collectors.
All gemstones have been carefully examined under magnification and tested with professional gemological equipment. We guarantee their authenticity, so you can purchase with confidence.
